The information is very clear and direct to the point. The material for this book is very good and strong. Nice prints.I just live this book, the format, the info the pictures it’s great.I have a sitting out of my table. I think it up almost every day to look up something. It's a great Encyclopedia of vitamin and mineral knowledge. People are always curious when they come to the house and pick it up and read through it.This book is very clear and easy to use. A large section at the front dealing with various ailments and possible treatments with vitamins, minerals and herbs. Then a section giving detailed information about each vitamin, mineral and herb and how to take them. It's not exhaustive and doesn't provide a great deal of supporting evidence, but I use it in tandem with the PDR for Herbal Medicines and find it very useful.Well formatted, has a lot if useful in it!I had purchase this book (or Other) 10 years ago. I loved it. But a former roommate took it with her when she left and I had to get another one. I use this quite a lot. I also shares this with my doctor, because I want to try something different then another prescription. I like it as a reference.Hi there,very interesting book,good to have to understand the basics of minerals and vitamins.nice pictures and good advices.This book is undoubtedly a very comprehensive and informative guide to nutritional supplements and herbs that can help preventing and fighting disease, although certain common supplements available in most health food stores are not mentioned in this book. But, it is probably impossible for any author to have knowledge of every nutritional supplement, which doesn't mean that it is not a worthwhile supplement to try. So for me this book was helpful because it made me aware of a few new methods to research that I was not aware of before even if methods known to me were not mentioned.The problem I found with this book (and the reason for "only" a four star rating) is, that warnings about certain supplements (especially herbs) that are known to be potential health risks (and have by now been banned in most western countries and were at the time of publishing, although not in the US even if they are by now, 11 years later) do not have a cautionary mention in their description.It is not sufficient to make a note on every page that authors recommend consulting a doctor for people with pre-existing medical conditions and regular medication, but general metions like "may provoke seizures in epileptics" or something like that might be helpful rather than restricting recommendations to those with kidney or liver damage (and even there the warnings are inconsistent as they are mentioned in some cases and not in others).However, as a general informative book rather than a "bible" this book is highly recommended.This book is filled with great information, anyone interested in learning about what vitamins, minerals and herbs can do for your body would like this book. It's easy to read.
